New York Tribeca Epic Project 2010 FAQ

1.         ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE   The project will begin on Tuesday, June 15th, and end on Wednesday, July 21st.  You need to arrive on June 15th before 5pm.  Do not plan to leave the project before July  21st.  You will be checking out of your rooms between 9-11 AM on the 21st of July.  If you are flying to New York City, send your flight information to Stacy.Kao@gmail.com. The closest airports to fly into are LaGuardia (LGA) and John F. Kennedy (JFK).  JFK is the easiest airport to fly into.

2.         HOUSING    You will be rooming with students on our summer project.  More information forthcoming.

We recommend packing light.  There are no televisions in the rooms.  Plan on using your mobile phone for all calls.   All in all, we believe our housing will be more than adequate as a home away from home!

3.         CHECK-IN   We will send out more information on this as the project start date draws near.  When you arrive at the project housing, Epic and/or CCC staff will be there to help you with the check-in process.

4.         FOOD   All food expenses are included in the project cost.  Each week, you will receive a set amount of cash for your meals, including lunches during ministry outings, weekend meals, and breakfast foods that you can keep in your room.

5.         SCHEDULE    The summer will be rewarding, exciting, and fun, but not just a big vacation.  We won't pull any punches‑‑the schedule is demanding!  You will be expected to participate in all project activities and will be given various responsibilities.  Project activities will include small groups, teaching meetings, evangelism, work in local churches and on local campuses, and whatever else possible to help fulfill the Great Commission.

6.         CLASSES   The summer project’s schedule will be quite full, so if you are planning on taking any type of class this summer either through correspondence or online, you will need to discuss this with us before arriving at the project.

 7.        MAIL   You will be able to receive mail at the dorm, so if you need to put in a mail forwarding address to continue receiving your mail this summer, please make sure to do so before you leave your home.  All you need for your mailing address this summer is:

                        Campus Ministries - Tribeca SP
                        (Your Name) - Epic
144 E. 44th Street, 7th Fl
New York, NY 10017

8.         CLOTHES   Plan on packing fairly lightly. Bring comfortable and casual clothes as well as one or two nicer casual outfits for special occasions.  You will be doing quite a bit of walking so please be sure to bring comfortable shoes to walk in.

9.         WEATHER   Summer weather in New York City is exciting!  The weather during the months of June and July are hot and humid, with temperatures commonly exceeding 90°F.  It is also known to thunderstorm occasionally as well, so bring your umbrella.

10.       FINANCES   Cost:  The cost of project for each student is $3500 for the summer. You will also want to add on the cost of your flight or your gas if you’re driving to New York City.  This will give your total support goal.  Be sure to save and bring your transportation receipts for reimbursing.  If you have raised the finances, you can be reimbursed for all your transportation costs.  $3500 of your expenses is due when you arrive on June 9th. You will have access to ATM machines.
